If you’re tired of dealing with the inconvenience of glasses or contact lenses, LASIK eye surgery at Novus Clinic in Tallmadge is an excellent alternative. LASIK Surgery is also easy and affordable with interest-free financing.
Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is a laser eye surgery procedure designed to reduce your dependency on glasses and contact lenses. This FDA-approved procedure is used to correct refractive problems such as myopia, (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism by permanently changing the shape of the cornea (the thin, clear covering of your eye).
With new advances such as “Wavefront LASIK” guided technology and laser eye tracking, correcting your vision has never had greater precision, and we will customize a laser treatment that is as unique as you are.
Am I a good candidate for LASIK eye surgery?
You might be a good laser eye surgery candidate if you are over 18 years of age and have had a stable prescription for about 2 years. Potential refractive patients need to have overall good ocular health, meaning their eyes are free from any eye disease or corneal abnormalities from previous scars (sometimes due to contact lens over wear and abuse) or infections. You must not be currently pregnant or nursing and or be post-partum and deceased nursing 3-6 months prior to an evaluation.
What kind of results can I expect from laser eye surgery?
20/40 or better. To obtain your licenses without corrective eyewear, you must test 20/40 or better. During your evaluation the surgeon will determine based on your current prescription whether a 20/40 outcome can be achieved.
LASIK patients experience 1-2 days of limited downtime and those post-op instructions will be reviewed with you the day of your evaluation.
Who will perform my LASIK eye surgery?
Board certified ophthalmologists and Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons Dr. Todd Beyer and Dr. James L. Johnston, Jr., have performed thousands of custom LASIK and refractive surgeries for patients in Akron and Canton throughout Northeast Ohio.
