Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis (LASIK) is a laser eye surgery procedure designed to reduce your dependency on glasses and contact lenses. This FDA-approved procedure is used to correct refractive problems such as myopia, (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism by permanently changing the shape of the cornea (the thin, clear covering of your eye).
With new advances such as “Wavefront LASIK” guided technology and laser eye tracking, correcting your vision has never had greater precision, and we will customize a laser treatment that is as unique as you are.
Our advanced laser platform may change your options. The new BLADE FREE, ALL LASER procedure delivers LASIK with even more precision, predictability and safety than traditional manual methods. Patients not considered candidates for LASIK before may now, in fact, be eligible using this advanced technology! It is a perfect alternative for area residents seeking a gentler, blade free LASIK. Novus offers all FDA approved refractive opportunities tailored to suit your particular visual needs.
The Ziemer Femtosecond laser, it is the finest combination of American know-how and Swiss precision engineering. Millions of LASIK surgeries have been performed using the traditional bladed microkeratome. In the hands of a skilled surgeon, outcomes have been successful. Yet, the All Laser, Blade Free System improves the precision, safety and predictability over manual methods.
Our Ziemer Ultra Fast Laser Method offers results so consistent and safe that patients’ outcomes are insured. This fast growing technology is also available for cataract surgery bringing vision restoring procedures to new heights of success and predictability. Our practice is devoted to bringing the safest and most effective procedures to our patients.
You might be a good laser eye surgery candidate if you are over 18 years of age and have had a stable prescription for about 2 years. Potential refractive patients need to have overall good ocular health, meaning their eyes are free from any eye disease or corneal abnormalities from previous scars (sometimes due to contact lens over wear and abuse) or infections. You must not be currently pregnant or nursing and or be post-partum and deceased nursing 3-6 months prior to an evaluation.
20/40 or better. To obtain your licenses without corrective eyewear, you must test 20/40 or better. During your evaluation the surgeon will determine based on your current prescription whether a 20/40 outcome can be achieved.
LASIK patients experience 1-2 days of limited downtime and those post-op instructions will be reviewed with you the day of your evaluation.
